  • Call for bids for Ontario Open

    Dear Ontario chess organizers,
    Looks like Covid restrictions will be lifted in Ontario soon and Over The Board tournaments will be back. The OCA is hoping to have the Ontario Open this year. Traditionally, it is organized on the Victoria Day Weekend. 

    The Ontario Open is hosted by one of 4 Ontario chess leagues on a rotational basis. The NOCL (Northern Ontario Chess League) was eligible to organize 2022 Ontario Open due to cancellation of the Open in 2020 and 2021. Unfortunately, by now no organizer from the NOCL has come forward with the intention to organize 2022 Ontario Open. By this posting, the OCA initiates an open bid for 2022 Ontario Open. 
    Are you willing to organize 2022 Ontario Open?  If you have any questions, please email me at ilia_bluv@hotmail.com.
    I will appreciate if you indicate your intentions by February 28th.

  • 2021 Ontario Open – cancelled

    The 2021 year tournament was cancelled.

    The next one is planned for 2022 – the same Victoria Day weekend, the same city Sault Ste. Marie.
